Psalm 63.5

“My soul shall be filled as with a banquet.”

Reflection

What is a banquet if not an enormous variety of rich fare to delight the palette and satisfy the appetite?  What, then, shall the soul’s banquet be if not the infinite number of treasures and riches of his house, with which the soul will be utterly filled – overflowing even.  What shall we say of this banquet?  How shall we speak of it?  It is the fulfillment of every longing of the human mind and heart.  In it, the soul shall find the reason for its creation.  Grace piling upon grace, glory following glory shall be our lot as we rejoice with inexpressible joy that our time to praise God will be unlimited.  Everlasting our praise will be able to be.
