“He plots the defeat of goodness as he lies on his bed of pain”

As we lie in bed before sleeping at night let us consider how, if the Lord grants us another day, we are going to regain ground lost to the enemy.  Prayers, fasting, almsgiving, repentance, sacrifice, building up the Kingdom…as the worldly plan how they will continue to embrace the world in the new day let us plan to renew our solemn baptismal commitment as we face the new dawn.  The new day might be our last in the struggle, the closing chapter of this life’s final battle.  Let us resolve to live it well; fully engaged in the struggle.  Let us be found not only keeping watch but winning souls.  This is the harvest expected and demanded of those on whose fertile heart the seed has landed.
