Reach down from heaven and save me;

draw me out from the mighty waters,

from the hands of alien foes

whose hands are raised in perjury.

“Draw me out from the mighty waters.”  “Lead us not into temptation.”  “Stay awake, and pray that you not be put to the test.”  Flee temptation, for temptation is always a lie.  And though temptation may sweep over you like a deluge, our Lord is able to pull us up out of the water as he did Peter – “Save me, O Lord, from temptation that seems to overwhelm me.”
