Blessed be the Lord, my rock

who trains my arms for battle,

who prepares my hands for war.

“They defeated him by the blood of the Lam and by the word of their testimony; love for life did not deter them from death” (Revelation 12.11).

They defeated the accuser by the blood of Christ and by the Word: embraced in the mind and heart through knowledge and lived out in life through kindness.  ‘Love for life’ is clearly praiseworthy and the proper love of the right life is not contrary to that death of self which gives it all meaning.
