Luke 23.42-43

Then [the criminal] said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."  He replied, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise."

Reflection

"Us too!" we want to cry out, guilty and sinful as we are next to the other criminals.  "Remember me too Lord!" we want to cry out while Jesus remains alive, wishing we had taken the initiative to speak our confession first and to seek mercy.  "Now is the acceptable time!" (2 Corinthians 6.2)  "Make the most of the time." (Ephesians 5.16; Colossians 4.5)  "Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest is still open, let us take care that none of you should seem to have failed to reach it." (Hebrews 4.1)
